Pulp Fiction Covers
The images take actual experiences, and use the visual language from a pulp fiction novel cover to try to recreate the memory. Clearly this doesn’t quite begin to recreate the whole memory, but gives a glimpse of the events that took place.
Since I document a lot of experiences, but hardly ever place them in a photo album I thought this would be a great way to gather a whole experience onto a single image that told about the experience as a whole rather than a single moment.
Image As Investigation
For this project I am making a study of movement by exploring the passage of time within one single image. I am using multiple images superimposed over each other to capture motion and narrative within the still image.
I chose daily tasks to demonstrate how even the everyday can show beautiful movement if slowed down just enough. I’ve added to the visual interest of a surreal color-cast to expand on the hyper-reality of the images.
